Bomb Buddies is a multiplayer co-op party game consisting 8-10 unique micro games, featuring different AR technology and phone affordances, and a linear narrative experience of 20 minutes.
Progress
Bomb Buddies started as a final project I pitched for a World Building in AR course. It was produced by a team of 4 over the course of one month, using Unity’s AR Foundation and Google’s ARCore plugins, built for the android platform.
It included 4 short mini games using various phone sensors as well as a narrative script.
I worked with teammates on exploring technical features, designing mini games and mechanics, drawing assets, and writing the narrative.
The game was showcased at the 2022 USC Games EXPO in May. The trailer and gameplay video is shown below.
I extended, revised, and pitched Bomb Buddies to a committee of USC Games faculty, which got greenlit as one of the games for the Advanced Game Projects.
I am now directing a multi-disciplinary team of currently 30 members, developing the game over the course of a school year towards final release in May 2023.
